"Atmosphere"

 "Walk in silence,
Don't turn away, in silence.
Your confusion,
My illusion,
Worn like a mask of self-hate,
Confronts and then dies.
Don't walk away."

"People like you find it easy,
Naked to see,
Walking on air.
Hunting by the rivers,
Through the streets,
Every corner abandoned too soon,
Set down with due care.
Don't walk away, in silence,
Don't walk away."

Sorry for the lack of post. Its getting near the end of the semester and I want to end my last year on the honors list. I've been so busy studying and putting papers together.
Here are some photos Bryan took during our spring break. It was a lot of fun relaxing for a few days. We went hiking at Vasquez Rocks again. While in Palmdale we also visited some old ruins and a really cool gift shop I wish I took pictures of. They made their own honey and soda pops! My spring break was short lived because I still had to study for an exam. The good news: I got a perfect score!

"Still Waiting"

"So am I still waiting
For this world to stop hating
Can't find a good reason
Can't find hope to believe in"

"These eyes
Have seen no conviction
Just lies and more contradiction
So tell me what would you say
I'd say it's time too late.."

"How far
Will we take this
It's not hard to see through the fakeness
So tell me what would you say
I'd say it's time too late"

Here are some of my favorite photos I've developed recently. Enjoy.

"I'm Not a Loser"

"Think that I'm a loser,'cause my pants are really too low
Think that I'm a slob, 'cause i got holes in my shoes"

"Well you can fuck off, 'cause i'm working sixty a week
I'm not a loser!, that's right, I'm not a loser!, I'm not a loser!"

I totally forgot to share all the goodies I got at the UNIF sample sale with you! The shirt and jacket are a few of the things. I was so excited when I heard they were having one, I thought for sure they had stopped and were going to do the online ones. Anyways, these shirts are so comfy and long enough to double as a dress! This bomber jacket is also really warm and perfect for this weird weather we're having. I feel so bad complaining about how cold I am when it's freezing in NYC.

On other news I got a call from the police department to come in for an interview. I am so excited and nervous, ah! I really hope I get this job. Wish me luck!

"Part Time Punks"

"Walkin' down the kings road,
I see so many faces
They come from many places
They come down for the day
They walk around together
And try and look trendy
I think it's a shame
That they all look the same"

"They play their records very loud
And pogo in the bedroom
In front of the mirror
But only when their mums gone out
They pay 5 pence fares on the buses
And they never use toothpaste
But they got two fifty to go and see The Clash.
Tonight!

Since this is my last semester of school I took an internship class during winter break,...so I had no break :( It was an amazing class, but I was sad I didn't get to travel like I usually do. However, I got to intern at different prisons/jails and gained amazing insight that books do not offer. On days off I took Jack on field trip. Here is when we went to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Its small, cute, and filled with knowledgeable staff. Plus its free (they accept donations)! Its also located right by the beach and they have decent tide pools. I would defiantly recommend this spot.

"Picture"

"I see our fate
I see our past
And all the things
That could not last
It's heavy on these eyes
Frozen as I hold this photograph"

"It's all we're left
That's of any worth
And it's so much more
Than a thousand words
Now in this frame
Is the only way we can endure"

I never have any luck finding cute clothes when I go into Good Will, but I always happen to find cameras. I picked this one up a few months ago and finally got my film developed. It sucks because the Walgreen's by my house no longer develops 35mm film in an hour. They ship it out, so now it takes like three weeks. :(
I was looking at some photography on fliker and it got me really excited. However, it all went away when I picked up my film. I'm not a fan of how the colors came out. I am not sure if it's the the way the new company develops the photos or the camera, but I don't like it at all. It looks like I messed around with the saturation on photoshop. Also the focus range is really awkward. I have to be really far so it can be in focus. Half of my shots were all out of focus. The automatic winding is great though and its a really light camera. I recommend it if you want something quick to shoot with and throw in your bag.

"Seeing Red"

"You see me and you laugh out loud
You taunt me from safe inside your crowd
My looks, they must threaten you
To make you act the way you do"

"You see me and you think I'm a jerk
First impressions without a word
You can't believe your eyes at first
But now you know you've seen the worst"

Jack has been obsessed with Pooh and Thomas the train lately. That's all he wants to watch and play. It was too hot to be walking around Disneyland, so I brought him to this little train museum in Lomita. I didn't even know it existed. Originally I was going to take him to the train place at Griffith Park. My dad always took me there as a little kid. However,, I searched for closer places and this little gem popped up! Its really small, but Jack loved it. He spent hours playing and running around. He is the cutest little thing.

"L.A. Girl"

"L.A. girl, L.A. world
Don't tell us how to act, don't tell us what to wear
L.A. girl, L.A. world
You didn't create our scene"

"Stuck in your world of dreams again
My life starts where your life ends
You've burned out your battery has died
If it wasn't for O.C. your scene alive"

I've been going to downtown LA a lot this summer. I'm helping my best friend, Sandra, with a project for her summer program she's in at USC. We are looking at how air pollution can affect parts of the brain. We've been trying to get some surveys done, but it's really hard. No one wants to do it :( Those that do are rude or don't understand what air pollution is. We need 30 and only have 4. It's going to be a long summer, but at least my friend and I have fun exploring the old side of LA. Until it gets dark that is lol.

Besides that, I have been going to LA with my friends and family. I went to the California Grand Plaza for the summer nights concert. I didn't know this, but they have free little concerts at the plaza on the weekends during summer. It's really cute. I have never heard of any of the bands playing, but it was still fun to watch and take in the view of LA. The have free things, coffee, and records. They have some food places, but you can bring your own to have a picnic.

I also attended the LA Art Walk for the first time this month. I loved it! If you have not gone and live near by I highly recommend it. Artist are selling their work and even painting in front of you. I wanted to buy some art, but naturally I picked the most expensive ones that were $2,000. The Art Walk takes place on Spring St, also known as the coffee district. I really want to live here. :) Lastly, I went to The Last Book Store where I fell in love and wanted to move in. Books, books, books, as far as the eye can see. Upstairs they have a labyrinth of used books for $1. It's a book worms dream.
